Raised outside, our pigs eat lots of whey, cheese from any mistakes we make in the cheese plant or broken packages, hay and a small amount of grain.
The whey and other dairy products our pigs eat brings a unique sweetness to the meat. The amount of grass we feed our pigs makes the meat unbelievably tasty. Being raised outside creates a clean taste that can't be found in grocery store meat.
Wether in the milk or in the meat, animals fed grass priduce healthier and more flavourful fats.
These ham steaks are naturally smoked and I can't describe how delicious they are. BBQ, pan fry on a bed of onions or slow roast in the oven. Serve with Ontario applesauce.
